Chandigarh is known for its wide road, spacious gardens, parks and architecture. Last week of February, I saw a large hoarding about Flower festival 2019 to be hosted in Panchkula Town Park on 09 & 10 March 2019. I use to go to city town park several days a month. Prepration for the Flower festival had started two weeks before it’s schedule.
Lighting were done beautifully and there were several stalls decorated by different schools, art societies, private companies. Let’s go in details about Flower Festival 2019 .
Flower Festival 2019 in Chandigarh
One of the main attraction of Flower festival 2019 is it’s entrance gate. It was decorated beautifully with varieties of flowers.
Best part of this flower festival is that it was organised in town park which is very spacious. More than thousand people were enjoying their week ends in flower festival, still not felt like crowded.
Few things that I noticed:-
- Painting exhibition by arts societies

Several famous artist had participated in painting exhibition. Most of them had separate stall for their painting and painting lovers had enjoyed it. Some of artists were exhibiting their skills in front of public.
After painting exhibition, second row was of flower exhibition. I never seen such huge varieties of flowers. I identified Marigold, lotus, roses, hibiscus, sunflower, musk rose, Lilly, zinnia, pansies etc. Apart from these flowers, there were hundred of types of flowers.
Most of the schools of Tricity had showcased variety of flowers. Apart from flowers, flowers information was also displayed on a pamphlet. It was a pleasant atmosphere with mixed sweet scent of flowers flowing across the park. In addition to beautiful scene, it was an opportunity for all age group people to learn about flowers.
In open air auditorium of town park, cultural programme was also going on. Music sound of the cultural programme could be heard in all four corners of the park which was making this experience more memorable.
You can watch short video of cultural programme below.
Entry to the Flower festival was totally free. There was also no fee for cultural programme. This flower festival was first class place for family week end tour. It was memorable 3 hours which gave so much knowledge, experience and precious time with family. There were toys shops, baloon shops for small children. There were some road side fast food stall for refreshment.
Overall it was nice experience for all age group people.
